Between 16:21 and 16:30 today some customers experienced issues with Internet transit from DC-1 and DC-2 in Derby.

Engineers are currently investigating the cause.

Update 18/01/2011 17:35 – Engineers have isolated the issue to an Ethernet link between one of our two Core routers, our traffic shaper, and one of our Core Switches – all located within the Derby DC. We are currently studying logs, and information from our Network Management Systems in an effort to identify the root cause. The issue caused a high percentage of packet loss which resulted in OSPF neighbour sessions flapping, which in turn caused Internet Transit connectivity issues for collocated customers.
